A message from salon 509
Thank you Tri-Cities, for your continued support during these tough times! I also want to thank the front-line workers that are fighting the COVID-19 virus and trying to keep us all safe. There are brighter days ahead! Please be patient with us as we navigate the changing restrictions and rules for re-opening. We will get through this together and be stronger for it.
We miss you and can't wait to see you!
How you can help
There are many local small businesses in the Tri-Cities that are really struggling to survive right now. Please consider supporting them through direct gift card purchases, take-out/delivery, or just some kind words of support.
We are offering free delivery of hair products within the Tri-Cities. We will soon have an online store available. For now, you can browse our products and call the salon to place your order. You may also purchase gift cards online for future use toward products and services.
We hope that the explanations below help with answer your questions. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to call the salon or contact us through our online form.
Q: When will you re-open?
A: The current order from Washington's Governor extends to May 31st, 2020. Our assumption is that we *may* be able to open in on June 1st. We are making preparations now, so that we will be ready to go when the restrictions are lifted.
Q: When can I make an appointment?
A: Due to the changing dates and restrictions, we have made the hard decision to stop all appointment bookings until we have a firm date for re-opening. We know this can be stressful and difficult for you. We feel that it is better to wait until we can make a commitment to you, rather than be forced to change appointments as the changes to restrictions and extensions occur.
Q: What if I had an appointment that was cancelled due to the closure?
A: As each stylist is their own independent business, each of them may choose how they handle re-booking clients. As a salon, our guidance is to give preference to clients who have had appointments cancelled. Your stylist will reach out to you to reschedule.
Q: Can you perform house calls for individual appointments?
A: No, this is for the safety of our clients and our stylists. To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we must each do our part to minimize in-person social interactions.
Q: When you re-open, will it be 'business as usual'?
A: The short answer is, no. What restrictions will be in place when we re-open is unclear at this time. We are preparing for what we assume may be some rules we are obligated to follow in order to re-open. Please know that while some of these temporary rules may be annoying - we aren't looking forward to them either! - we will have to strictly enforce them. Our business cannot survive if we are forced to shut down a second time due to non-compliance.
Some restrictions you *may* see when we re-open:
- Limit of 10 people (clients + stylists) in the salon at one time
- Masks required for stylists and clients (must be worn for entire visit)
- Minimum of 6 foot distance between occupied stations
- Increase sanitary precautions (we already have strict rules on sanitizing - we expect additional guidance to follow)
- No waiting area - clients will be asked to wait in their car or possibly at a single chair outside of the salon
- Only the client may enter the salon - no visitor (children, friends, family, etc.) may enter with the client
